Sybaritic Retreats Properties
"The World's Most Exclusive Luxury Residences"
Those six words were the only details regarding the property portfolio of Sybaritic Retreats.
Not limited to just their real estate, Sybaritic Retreats didn't release any information about any of their club's design, and if not for their name, they would likely have not been known by anyone. In a profile of the destination club concept in the New York Times Sybaritic Retreats was used as an example of the "inspirational" names used throughout the industry, joining other more notable clubs like Dream Catcher, Exclusive Resorts, and Private Escapes.
While each of these three clubs had already established themselves in the sector with multiple properties and a growing base of members, Sybaritic Retreats was for all intents and purposes an idea and a single webpage.
The single webpage simply described the definition of the word sybaritic and provided virtually no details regarding the club's model, benefits to members, pricing, or information about the club's properties.
It is likely that the club planned to give members access to a collection of luxury hotels and resorts with no owned properties. This type of structure typically is not considered a destination club. Members would pay a low entry fee and receive discounts at participating travel partners.
The club's single webpage remained active nearly through the end of 2009, never with any updates or even a place for interested parties to request additional information.
