Many young destination clubs do not draft press releases early in their history in an attempt to limit their costs. In a classical chicken or the egg dilemma, these clubs don't receive the press coverage that allows them to grow to a sustainable level, at which point they can spend money or press releases.
Sybaritic Retreats not only fell into this trap, but apparently also failed to ever fully establish the club's business structure.
Launching with just a single webpage, the club did not disclose any information, instead focusing on describing the history of the Greek city Sybaris and the definition of the word sybaritic.
No news ever emerged from the club and that single webpage went unchanged until late in 2009 when the page was removed.
During the club's long and fruitless tenure in the industry, no information relating to the club's properties, pricing, executive team, or any other functional component were ever disclosed.
