Sybaritic Retreats Partnerships
One of the most unknown destination clubs in the sector's long history, Sybaritic Retreats was one of the few destination clubs to receive some attention but never officially launch.
Sybaritic Retreats' claim to fame was a passing mention in the New York Times, using the club's name as an example of the "inspirational" brand names that litter the industry.
At the time, the club consisted of a single webpage, vaguely defining the club by describing the Greek city of Sybaris and definitions of sybaritic. No other details regarding the club were available.
While many destination clubs start with these humble beginnings, existing more as a concept than a club, Sybaritic Retreats stalled. That single webpage was never updated with any new information about the club, pricing, structure, or anything else pertaining to its future.
Late in 2009, after years without any changes to the club's site, the single webpage was removed.
No partnerships were ever listed or released, but it appears that the model the club may have used would function around members paying a low entry fee to join in exchange for discounts at participating hotels and resorts.
