As evidenced by their named, Ski Destinations would dedicate their small destination club to the alpine audience looking for a luxurious ski experience each year. The sister club of Fly Fishing Destinations, a destination club focused on crafting fishing vacation, Ski Destinations would bring a modified version of the destination club model to the structure of their club.
Members would receive a five year right to use membership with the club, receiving two weeks of access to club properties each year, one during the peak ski season and one during the off season.
"This is a five year club membership that provides multi million dollar custom built homes adjacent to major ski resorts. Each home is professionally interior decorated with the best of furnishings. Also available are services to line you up with local ski adventures, ski teachers and equipment. A five year membership will cost approximately $80,000.00, which includes one week of use during the ski season and one week during the off season. At present membership reservations are free. If you are looking to have access to beautiful multi-million dollar ski homes but don’t want the headaches and monthly payments this is the answer."
Limited to 90 members, five properties would be available through the club. Following the acquisition of their tenth member, the first property would become available. These initial members would be asked to submit a fully refundable $5,000 deposit with the total amount due paid once the club reached their tenth member.
"Once the tentative membership reservations reach ten entities, Ski Destination LLC will ask the tentative members to deposit the remaining membership fees into the escrow account at which point, Ski Destinations LLC will close escrow on a chosen property. Again, your membership fees will be handled by the escrow account. Distributions of Membership fees by the escrow account are as follows: 60% of fees go to purchasing property, mortgage, tax and insurance payments. The remaining funds will be released to Ski Destinations for additional real property acquisitions, furnishings, property maintenance and appropriate business expenses."
Based out of Utah, Ski Destinations had already decided on their first property acquisition, considering either Alta or Park City, Utah. For every 18 new members that joined, a new property would be added until their fifth residence. The five planned destinations included:
- Alta, Utah
- Park City, Utah
- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
- Steamboat Springs, Colorado
- Big Sky, Montana
"All locations have excellent skiing and summer vacationing in these areas is fantastic. We have other locations that we are looking at, but the above-mentioned properties are the most likely locations at this time."
It appears that Ski Destinations was unable to reach their initial ten member goal and never made any properties available for any members that did join the club.
While never acquired, Ski Destinations planned on making properties in the $1.5 to $2.5 million price range available to their select group of members.
