Ski Destinations, a destination club catering to the needs of ski devotees, would have a differing model from that of other destination clubs. Rather than charging members a refundable membership deposit to join and annual dues and fees for every year they remain a member, Ski Destinations would sell memberships in five year increments for a one-time up front fee.
As the member approached their five years as a member, the amount would approach $0. In effect, this structure would resemble a pre-payment of five years of annual dues at $16,000 per year.
Ski Destinations would limit their membership to just 90 total members who would have access to five ideally located ski destinations. While the club would monitor the member's destination wants and needs, they did identify their probable destination list, including:
- Alta, Utah
- Park City, Utah
- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
- Steamboat Springs, Colorado
- Big Sky, Montana
Ski Destinations would plan on making their first property available following the acquisition of their tenth member. Unfortunately, the young club would not reach this milestone and would not proceed any further.
