Simplicity International Notes From The Club
A regionally focused destination club based out of Connecticut, Simplicity International holds the honor of having one of the most bizarre histories in the history of the sector.
Conceived in 2003, Simplicity would begin to move forward with their destination club in 2004 and brought on real estate veteran John Schopfer to serve as the club's President and COO. "I was originally attracted to Simplicity because of the quality and integrity of Jeff’s craftsmanship and the unique regional model," said Schopfer about the club's Founder Jeffrey Tallman. "After several months of deliberation Simplicity is now the most highly differentiated club in the industry. We’ve created the most exclusive availability in the industry with the portfolio structure and the most secured membership with our Trust mechanism. Even after 20 years in the industry, I can say that Simplicity is breaking new ground. We are also very reassured with the great initial response."
Based out of Southport, Simplicity International would be limited to just 36 families and would launch in early 2005. Soon after the club's launch, a large resort development "snapped up" the club. Following the acquisition, nothing was done with Simplicity International and the club was abandoned.
After approximately a year in limbo, John Schopfer, the club's original President and COO, acquired Simplicity International, but rather than returning to the destination club sector, Simplicity would transition to become a resort real estate development company.
"The new 'improved' Simplicity brand vision will continue to expand 'The Simple Life of Leisure' initially conceived by the original company," the club wrote. "The goal is to develop select properties and services that offer a personalized and exclusive experience of quality, comfort and style, set in an atmosphere of casual elegance."
No longer affiliated with the destination club sector, there are no notes available from Simplicity International.
