Simplicity International Holiday Access
Simplicity International would formally launch their new destination club in January of 2005 after a limited offering late in 2004.
"In mid-December Simplicity created Home Portfolio One (HP1) that would only be available to 36 families in the Fairfield County area making it the most exclusive membership of its kind," wrote the Connecticut based club. "Only these 36 families will have Primary access to this treasured portfolio of homes composed of fine properties in Nantucket, MA, Jackson Hole, WY, Manchester Village, VT, South Beach, FL, Sunapee Lake, NH, and Nevis, located in the West Indies next to St. Kitts."
According to the club, Simplicity "sold through its first tier of memberships in less than one week" and would go on looking to fill their 36 member capacity. Once the club reached that goal, companion clubs in New York and Boston had already been planned.
As the summer of 2005 approached, a "larger resort development group" acquired the club. Over the course of the next year, no news was disclosed regarding the state of the club until August of 2006. It seems that the development group had abandoned the project after the acquisition, paving the way for John Schopfer, the club's President and COO, to reacquire the Simplicity.
Rather than bringing the club back to its destination club roots, Schopfer would transition Simplicity into the role of a resort real estate development company.
As Simplicity International was only included in the destination club ranks for a matter of months, making it one of the shortest tenured destination clubs in history, no information regarding the holiday access policies and rules used by the club are available.
