Simplicity International
Annual Dues

One of the most chaotic stories in the history of the destination club sector, Simplicity International would only serve as a destination club for a very brief period before changing gears.

Originally conceived in 2003, Simplicity International would launch in January of 2005. At the head of the club was Jeffrey Tallman and John Schopfer. Just months after the launch, the club was approached by a company who "snapped up" the club according to Schopfer. Soonthereafter, the acquiring company abandoned the concept and suspended the upstart destination club.

Almost a year after the club's launch, Schopfer would reacquire Simplicity International and moved away from the destination club offering, transitioning the company into a resort real estate development firm.

During their short time in the destination club industry, Simplicity International gave members unlimited access to the club's property portfolio of nearly $2 million residences. In addition, club members would have access to "over 1000 select hotels throughout the world."

"Simplicity does not limit members' days and never charges daily usage fees," the club would disclose. "Members can make six reservations per year more than one month in advance and an unlimited number of reservations 'at-a-moment's-notice.'"

Members paid $10,000 per year in annual dues and were not required to pay any nightly fees, making Simplicity International one of the few destination clubs to allow unlimited travel without a daily cost.
