Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World Resignation and Redemption
One of the more attractive elements to an already popular destination club, Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World offers members a 100% refund on their membership deposit within the first year of membership if they elect to leave the club. According to Quintess, "a statement of confidence that you will love being part of the Club."
Following the first year of membership, members can resign their membership and receive 75% of their original membership deposit refunded.
Like many other destination clubs in the industry, Quintess has tinkered with their resignation policies over the years.
When first officially introduced to the market in April of 2005, the club had a similar structure, refunding 100% of a member's deposit within the first year. Following a member's second anniversary with the club, 80% of the then current membership deposit would be refunded to members if they elected to leave, allowing for the potential for a member to receive more back from the club than they originally paid.
Combining multiple resignation policies used through the industry to create their own hybrid membership option, Quintess would also evolve their structure to include a tiered outline that would refund exiting members a different amount based on the number of years they remained with the club.
Again, members could resign within the first year and receive 100% of their membership deposit refunded to them if membership was not a good fit for their travel needs. From years two through four, members could resign from the club and receive 80% of the original membership deposit refunded to them. Following the fifth anniversary within the club, members would again receive 100% of their deposit refunded to them.
There are multiple resignation models used throughout the destination club sector, some where none of the original costs of membership are obligated to be repaid by the club while others pledge to repay more than the member originally contributed, and everything in between.
