Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World Members
One of the largest destination clubs in the industry, Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World surpassed the 500 member mark in August of 2009, a tremendous feat as many other clubs during the same time period had ceased operation or filed for bankruptcy due to the market climate of 2008 and 2009.
During the year prior to the Quintess announcement of their 500th member, established clubs like Solstice Collection, High Country Club, and LUSSO Collection all filed for bankruptcy while upstart clubs like Botiga and Diamante Residences were unable to generate virtually any interest in their young clubs.
First introduced to the market in April of 2005, Quintess began their operations in 2004. Quietly growing their young club during their pre-launch, Quintess would already have an established base of members and properties when they began to openly market their luxury destination club. Less than a year after their public launch, they would surpass the 100 member mark, a notable threshold in the top heavy destination club sector.
Less than an hour away from Quintess headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado, another destination club would enjoy similar success. Launched publicly just three days after Quintess, Dream Catcher Retreats would share more than geography with their Colorado rival.
Both would offer members exclusive access to a property portfolio of $3+ million vacation properties, five-star pre- and post-travel services, on site concierges, and ultimately a similar growth curve.
As Quintess was passing the 100 member mark, Dream Catcher would do the same and in September of 2006, the young destination club sector would see "the largest consolidation in the industry to date."
"Quintess and Dream Catcher Retreats, two of the foremost luxury destination clubs, announced today a merger of the two companies to create Quintess, Catch the Dream," the collected club announced.
"Quintess and Dream Catcher share core values centered on a commitment to delight our members and a focus on remarkably luxurious, private freestanding homes," said Quintess CEO and Co-Founder Pete Estler. "Both parties saw the opportunity to combine our strengths to create a club with a vastly improved range of member experiences and even greater financial strength. At a time when Dream Catcher and Quintess have both enjoyed tremendous growth and financial stability, this merger unequivocally does both. The clubs have recently taken over $10 million in new investment capital and we are well positioned to accelerate growth in Quintess membership, destinations, and luxury resort properties."
That growth would be further punctuated by a partnership with The Leading Hotels of the World who had created their own destination club, The Leading Residences of the World. Adding members from The Leading Residences of the World and entering into the new partnership would lead the club to rebrand themselves as Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World as they are known today.
The club has continued their consistent growth for a myriad of reasons, including one of the most widely praised property porfolios in the industry and attractive membership benefits including a 100% refundable membership deposit in the first year.
