Premier Destinations Resignation and Redemption
Premier Destinations by Anne Sebastian's platform consisted of providing members with white glove service at every level of their membership and owning a collection of luxurious vacation properties all over the world. Launched during the same time period as Tanner & Haley's bankruptcy and with an executive team that included former leaders from that club, Premier would also strive to provide members a strong reassurance of the strength and protection of their refundable membership deposits.
The destination club would publish a 100% refundable membership deposit, but the total membership fee consisted of the 100% refundable membership deposit plus a non-refundable registration fee.
For example, the club's Individual Membership was offered for a $490,000 fee, of which $416,500 was considered the membership deposit and the remaining $73,500 was used by the club for purchasing vehicles, maintenance, and other club costs and not refunded to resigning members.
The club did allow members to enjoy 100% of the current value of their membership when they left the club, allowing for the opportunity for members to receive more than they originally contributed when they joined.
Premier Destinations did have a rather unique component to their resignation structure, where a portion of the non-refundable registration fee was contributed to a club "reserve account." This account would be used to refund members on a "zero in, one out" basis, where no new membership sales were required for a current member to leave. Premier also pledged to repay these resigning members within three days of their notice.
Unfortunately, against Exclusive Resorts, Quintess, and several other leading destination clubs in the sector, Premier Destinations never grew beyond their Charter Membership phase and acquired just a handfull of members.
By 2007, the club had ceased new membership sales, failed to return phone calls, and shut down their website.
