Premier Destinations
Founded by Vicki Vorhees in 2006, by 2007 Premier Destinations by Anne Sebastian had stopped selling new memberships and quietly faded out of the destination club industry.
Vorhees, who in addition to starting Premier Destinations also founded a non-profit organization for batter women, was joined by former Abercrombie & Kent Destination Club employees, including concierges, who looked to apply their experience to the new venture. A&K Destination Club would eventually provide one of the industry's largest black eyes when they were forced to file for bankruptcy after changing their name to Tanner & Haley. Premier looked to improve on some of their previous club's mistakes.
Providing a rather standard destination club offering including unlimited usage and a six to one member to property ratio, Premier Destinations did have several unique components to their membership plans. Each home would have their own luxury vehicle that the concierge would drive to the airport to meet you with. Appliances and accessories were standardized across the Premier Destinations portfolio: ovens, espresso machines, electronic equipment, remote controls and others were all the same for every property. Homes featured one of a kind artwork and antiques that could be purchased from the club.
The most notable difference between Premier Destinations and other destination clubs was the club's resignation policy. The vast majority of all destination clubs require the club to add three new members before they redeem one. Premier Destinations allowed members to redeem their membership on a "zero in, one out" basis that required no new membership sales. Premier Destinations promised that refunds would be returned within three days.
Despite these rather unique membership terms, the club failed to ever gain enough traction to go up against the leading clubs in Exclusive Resorts, Private Escapes, and Quintess.
