Paradise Destination Club Usage
One of the least known clubs in the history of the sector, Paradise Destination Club never released any press releases or were featured in any news features about the destination club industry.
According to the club's literature, all of the properties within the club were owned debt-free, the only debt the club would stem from maintaining the properties, and annual dues would more than cover those costs.
Members would also be able to choose between two different membership options, providing up to 40 nights of base access each year. In addition, members could leave the club at their leisure and receive 100% of their original membership deposit repaid to them upon resignation on a two in, one out basis.
Superficially a very exciting club, the true club structure revealed some misconceptions about the model. While the club did not carry any debt, it appears that this was accomplished by not owning any of the properties available to members. Instead, properties were contributed by members in a second home exchange program. Members would allow their vacation home to be used by other members so they could use properties contributed by other members.
While not disclosed, Paradise would likely use the membership deposit paid by members to purchase properties for their own portfolio.
Many have debated whether or not this fits the broad definition of a destination club, with valid arguments on both sides.
The young club released no news or press articles and virtually no one learned of the club and it appears that Paradise has ceased operations, likely with few, if any members.
Prior to their closure, two membership options were available, offering 20 and 40 nights of annual access respectively.
Gold "Lifetime" Membership
The introductory membership plan within Paradise, members could travel up to 20 nights per year. Members could elect to travel beyond this limit on a space available basis within 30 nights by paying a per night cost of $250.
Gold members would have "limited" holiday access.
Platinum "Lifetime" Membership
Platinum members received 40 nights of base plan access each year, with the ability to travel on an unlimited basis within 30 nights by paying $200 per night.
Unlike the Gold Membership, Platinum members could allow adult children and parents the ability to use their membership at their discretion.
Platinum members also received "priority" access during the club's holiday periods.
