Paradise Destination Club Annual Dues
Marketing a model that included zero debt, no mortgage payments, no leased properties in their property portfolio, no indebtedness to anyone, and all operating costs covered by annual dues, Paradise Destination Club appears to have never progressed past their Charter Membership offer.
Boasting an extensive property collection, including the Yucatan Peninsula, Bordeaux, Orlando, Lake Tahoe, Vail, Greece, and other destinations around the world, the operational model used by Paradise Destination Club was never outlined in the club's literature. Based on the sizeable property portfolio, it is likely that the club was structured as an exchanging program where home owners traded access to their property for usage at other residences. In the interim, the club would sell memberships to eventually purchase properties owned by the club.
The destination club offered two different membership plans, each still in the Charter phase. "The importance of the Charter Memberships being offered above is that Charter Members who enroll during Phase I have a fixed low one time membership deposit, guaranteed for the life of the membership never to increase," the club wrote. "Each Charter Member will always enjoy the opportunity to use PDC's entire current and future residence inventory - Regardless of future membership price increases!" Despite their enthusiasm, nearly every other destination club ever in existence operated under this structure.
Gold "Lifetime" Membership
Providing 20 nights of annual access, Gold members would pay $4,995 per year in annual dues. Once the club concluded its Charter Membership, these annual dues would be increased to $5,995 each year.
Members could travel on an unlimited basis within 30 nights of the date of travel, by purchasing additional nights for $250 each.
Gold members would also have "limited holiday" access.
Platinum "Lifetime" Membership
The highest level within Paradise Destination Club, Platinum members enjoyed 40 nights of club access each year. Unlike the Gold membership, Platinum afforded members the ability to allow extended family members to use the membership. Scheduled to ultimately rise to $9,995, annual dues during the Charter Membership phase were $7,995.
Within 30 days, members could make unlimited space available reservations by paying a $200 per night cost.
Platinum members also enjoyed "priority holiday" access.
Paradise Destination Club was never able to fully emerge in the industry, with a great deal of their structure never disclosed. As such, the club appears to have ceased operations, likely with no members.
Joining a club during its Charter Membership phase often provides members with the greatest savings, but also during the club's crucial launch phase, requiring even more substantial due diligence when joining.
