Ultimate Resort Sets Membership Goals For 2005
By: Destination Club News Date: March 20, 2005
One of the destination club industry's newest players, Ultimate Resort, has outlined their goals for new membership growth for the rest of the year, hoping to end 2005 with 50 members.
Still in their charter membership phase, the young club currently has approximately 20 members and has continued to grow since their public introduction last month, marketing the fact that they charge "50% less than other leading destination clubs."
"Ultimate Resort appeals to the growing base of 6 million 'mass affluent' luxury travelers, many of whom are looking for the flexibility and benefits of a luxury destination club, but at a fraction of the high cost of other leading destination clubs," said Founder and President Jim Tousignant.
The young club currently has six properties available to members and projects to reach ten by the end of the year. Ultimate Resort's current property list includes:
- New York, New York
- Steamboat Springs, Colorado
- Scottsdale, Arizona
- Sunny Isles Beach, Florida
- Los Cabos, Mexico
- US Virgin Islands
At present, memberships are available for $120,000 that consists of an $80,000 membership deposit and $40,000 club initiation fee. Members then choose the membership plan that is best suited for their travel needs, ranging from 21 to 42 nights of annual travel with accompanying annual dues between $10,000 and $14,000.
A collection of other destination clubs are also planning for substantial growth over the course of the year. New clubs such as BelleHavens and Dream Catcher Retreats have similar member totals as Ultimate Resort and other upstart clubs like The Markers and Havens both are projecting solid years.
