Ultimate Escapes and Doc Rivers Host Celebrity Golf Invitational

Just days following defeat in a thrilling game seven for the NBA Championship, Coach and Ultimate Escapes member Doc Rivers isn't quite ready for a vacation. The Celtics' Coach has once again partnered with the world's second largest destination club to host his 10th Annual Celebrity Golf Invitational at the Reunion Resort and Club Wyndham Grand Resort in Orlando to raise money for Shepherd's Hope, a non-profit that provides access to healthcare for the uninsured.

The event will kick off on the evening of July 22 with a celebrity pairings party where each foursome will find out which celebrity they will be playing with, including notable guests such as NBA Slam Dunk winner Spud Webb and sportscaster Craig Sager. Also during the evening, an Ultimate Escapes auction and raffle will take place where attendees will have the opportunity to bid on stays at homes in New York, Los Cabos, Jackson Hole, and Scottsdale and enter into a raffle for a three night stay at a Premiere Club property of their own choosing, with all proceeds going towards Shepherd's Hope.

Central Florida has also been the focus for Ultimate Escapes in recent months as the club gave members more vacation options in the region with the introduction of a new partnership with Waldorf Astoria Orlando, adding nearly 500 deluxe rooms and suites at the resort to their collection of destinations, joining properties in Key West, Indian Rocks Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Miami Beach, and Naples already available to club members.

A destination club veteran, Rivers has long been attached to Ultimate Escapes and is quick to bestow his praise for their efforts in supporting Shepherd's Hope. "I am thankful to Ultimate Escapes and its dedicated team for their continued support of the golf invitational and Shepherd’s Hope," said the coach. "Without their partnership, we could not be as successful as we have been in raising money to support this important cause over the past several years."

Part of the club's Ultimate Giving program, this is the fifth year that Ultimate Escapes has partnered with Rivers on his Celebrity Golf Invitational. In total, Ultimate Giving has raised over $350,000 for non-profit organizations over the years, including donating tickets to the Super Bowl, with a multi-year goal of $1 million.
