The Players Championship, often referred to as golf's "fifth major," isn't short on storylines for the next four days. How will Tiger Woods respond to missing the cut at last week's Quail Hollow Championship, just the fifth time in his professional career he wasn't playing on the weekend? Can Phil Mickelson supplant Woods at the top of the world golf rankings? Will another young player like Rory McIlroy rise up to take home the championship? Members of The Tour Club, one of the destination club industry's newest players, will get to see all the drama unfold right in front of them during the tournament, receiving "backstage pass access" as part of their membership.

With VIP tickets to all four rounds, Tour Club members have also had the opportunity to even set the pins with Tour officials. During the next four days, "course storytellers" will help members relieve the greatest moments of yesteryear at The Players Championship.

Members of The Tour Club have access to luxury golf residences around the country, but during the course of The Players Championship, beachfront rooms at the historic Five Diamond Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

The Tour Club launched as "the first national sports entertainment club" in February of this year. Already the club has amassed a collection of double digit members and will soon be introducing an individual membership option to join their corporate offering. Combined with the golf element is a track record of experience within the destination club industry with multiple executives from Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World guiding the club's vision.

"The Tour Club is a club that operates separately from Quintess, LRW, although it is owned, along with PGA Tour Experiences, by a common parent company, Club Holdings, LLC," wrote the club. "It is, however, much more than a traditional destination club: one part destination club, one part experience club, and one part country club. Because of this relationship with Quintess, LRW, members have the opportunity to enhance their leisure time with exclusive offerings only made possible by the club's long-term licensing contract with the PGA Tour."

As evidenced by The Tour Club and their "behind the ropes" privileges, luxury vacation homes aren't the only amenities available to destination club members. Many leading clubs allow members to take cruises, charter private jets, and partake in once in a lifetime safaris.
