When The Hideaways Club launched in 2007, it was designed as the "club run by Europeans, for Europeans." Since their humble beginning, The Hideaways Club has become one of the most internationally focused destination clubs, giving members access to vacation residences in the United States, France, Thailand, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Japan, and Mexico amongst others. As properties have continued to expand further outside their headquarters in London, The Hideaways Club has announced a new partnership with Etihad Airways.

As part of the new alliance, members of The Hideaways Club will receive access to the airline's frequent flyer program, exclusive fares on limo transfers to Heathrow and Manchester, use of spa facilities and fine dining at airport lounges, and special business class fares.

The announcement of the relationship with Etihad Airways is joined by a new partnership with Shangri-La Hotels. The alliance gives members of the club exclusive rates at Shangri-La hotels in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Penang, and Kuala Lampur.

"We are delighted to have formed these two partnerships as both companies represent the highest standards of quality, service and comfort enjoyed by members of The Hideaways Club," said Mike Balfour, The Hideaways Club Co-Founder and Chairman. "These agreements further underline what is a very exciting time for the Club and we are greatly encouraged by the rapid expansion of both the membership and property portfolio over the past year. We firmly believe that the strong growth we have been experiencing is a powerful endorsement of our business model."

2010 has been the year of partnerships for The Hideaways Club. In January, The Hideaways Club and Equity Estates announced a strategic alliance that gave members of both clubs reciprocal access to the other club's property portfolio. Just days later, The Hideaways Club and Banyan Tree Private Collection announced their own alliance, giving members luxury villa options throughout Asia and Europe.

When considering destination club membership, evaluating the club's partnership network is just one of the many decision criteria that should be used in making your decision whether or not to join.
