The Hideaways Club Confirms Price Increase

By: Destination Club News
Date: March 8, 2010

Last month, we discussed how The Hideaways Club planned a price increase following a string of notable achievements. Now Stephen Wise, the club's CEO, has confirmed the upcoming price increase, scheduled to take place this month.

"Following a very successful year, the Board of The Hideaways Club Property Company will ratify an increase in the share price of £10,000 in March 2010," Wise writes.

"The Board reviews the share price of The Hideaways Club every 6 months to ensure it reflects the underlying value of the assets held. During the last 12 months the Club has been very successful in buying properties at below their market values and refurbishing them to bring the value even higher. In March the Board will release some of the value created by this strategy to the Club's current Members by increasing the share price."

"If you have been considering membership in The Hideaways Club for a while, now is the time to get in touch and lock in a £10,000 gain on your investment straight away. After March 2010 new Members will only be able to join on the higher share price."

"The Hideaways Club now has over 130 Members who are enjoying the use of 45 luxury villas, apartments and ski chalets in Europe, Asia, South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, America, Mexico and the Caribbean. We were also delighted to be awarded Destination Club of the Year 2009 by ‘Destination Club News’."

"Membership is increasing at a fast rate as more people realize that investing in a portfolio which is spread across numerous jurisdictions is a much safer way of investing their capital rather than putting it all into one property in one location."

The £10,000 price increase will apply to the club's Premium Share, increasing to £245,000. Lifestyle Shares will increase from £160,000 to £166,666 and Associate Shares will move from £122,500 to £127,500. Each membership provides a different number of annual points that can be used throughout the year to make reservations and different travel privileges.

The Hideaways Club received our 2009 International Destination Club of the Year honor for a long list of reasons. Early in 2009, the club received new investment capital from Jonathan Feuer and Nick Bettany. This would help the club expand into Asia with new sales offices in Singapore and Hong Kong. Because of these initiatives, The Hideaways Club enjoyed one of their best years to date. "The fund's audited accounts for 2009 will show an increase in the number of shareholders of 85%, up to 120 total members," Wise told us earlier this year. "Given the current economic uncertainties and difficulties many of the other clubs are seeing, a near doubling in number of investors is very encouraging."

This year alone, The Hideaways Club announced a partnership with Equity Estates that would greatly increase the number of properties in the United States available to members, only to be followed by a partnership with Banyan Tree Private Collection that would expand on the number of properties in Asia available to members.

Through these alliances with Equity Estates and Banyan Tree Private Collection, members of The Hideaways Club now have access to approximately 50 residences around the globe.
