The Discovery Club Creates Special Trial Offer
By: Destination Club News Date: December 2, 2010
In time for the Christmas season, The Discovery Club has introduced a special trial membership offer for those who want to get away on a last minute trip prior to the holidays. Touted by the club as "the best trial membership offer we have ever had," the new option allows vacationers to enjoy seven nights of luxury accommodations to three choice club affiliates between now and the end of the year beginning at C$2,070.
Guests who want to take advantage of this limited time trial membership will have access to three destinations: Cancun, Alberta, and Vancouver.
Secrets Silversands Riviera - Cancun, Mexico For those who prefer sand over snow, a weeklong stay at the acclaimed Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun is available for C$2,680, valid through December 25, 2010 for two adults. The Discovery Club trial members will be able to stay in a Preferred Club Junior Suite Oceanfront Swim Out. Rooms feature suspended beds, Jacuzzis, electronic safety deposit boxes, and air conditioning with in-room climate control. Stays also include $200 in resort credits per room, per stay.
Fairmont Banff Springs - Alberta, Canada A more activity based destination, Fairmont Banff Springs gives members onsite outdoor skating or curling, fitness classes, outdoor heated pools, and obviously stellar skiing opportunities. All can be capped off by a massage at the Willow Stream Spa. The Discovery Club is offering a seven night stay in a Fairmont Gold Guestroom for C$2,965 through December 21, 2010 for two adults.
Shangri-La Vancouver - British Columbia, Canada The 119-room hotel is situated in downtown Vancouver was selected our property of the week earlier this year as the Vancouver Olympics were in full swing. The Discovery Club trial members will be able to reserve a seven night stay in an Executive King Balcony Guestroom for C$2,070, valid through December 31, 2010 for two adults.
If a guest joins The Discovery Club after their trip, $5,000 will be taken off their membership. November has seen the club add new destinations in Park City, Utah; Kapalua, Hawaii; Stowe, Vermont; Lake Tahoe, California; and Honolulu, Hawaii, demonstrating the ever expanding roster of options available to members.
Unlike other destination clubs where properties are owned by the club and available exclusively to members, The Discovery Club partners with resorts, hotels, and other luxury travel providers, giving members an ever growing collection of options.
"We are not interested in owning assets," said Tyrone Lingley, The Discovery Club's Director of Sales, in an interview earlier this year when we discussed their no ownership model. "The Discovery Club is interested in providing a premium service to our members that allows them to travel exactly how they want to, without any burdens of owning real estate. We remove this risk and focus on what people really want, an exceptional travel experience. What we do own is exclusive access agreements with the world’s finest hotels, resorts, cruises, and tours which ensures that our members are guaranteed the best value for their dollar, while not having to worry about the financial health of real estate assets. Add our personal concierge service and money-back guarantee, and we believe we have a product that is second to none."
