Signature Destinations Conducts Advisory Board Meeting

Signature Destinations, a regionally focused destination club based in the Northwest, conducted an advisory board meeting yesterday, including Co-Founders Chad Stevens and Brian Helm.

Board Member Dave Chase commented on his experience with the board on his blog.

From time to time, I participate in my client's advisory boards. Unfortunately, not all are as productive as the one I participated in yesterday. Not only were the 2 co-founders great about having a tight agenda and sticking to it, they've done a nice job of selecting their advisory board. The best of these boards have diverse experiences that are brought to the table but with personalities that focused, driven and fun to work with. While it's relatively easy to find the right backgrounds to complement each other, finding the "softer" skills really makes a big difference. While there were plenty of areas where there wasn't unanimity, the make-up of the group was to pull the best from everyone's ideas to come up with something that was better than any one person could have come up with.

The Signature Destinations Advisory Board includes:

  • Larry Gildersleve
  • Ian Morris
  • Dave Jones
  • Tom Poole
  • Chris Hurley

Learning more about the individuals that determine how a club will grow is just one of the many items that should be considered when evaluating a destination club. Signature Destinations takes a unique perspective on how they plan to steer their young club, first by launching out of the Washington area and subsequently introducing expansions in California, New York, Arizona, Colorado, and Hawaii. Other destination clubs take a more global perspective, acquiring properties all over the world for members to access.

While both have their own distinct advantages, analyzing your own travel patterns will help you better understand what club would be best for your travel needs.
