Ritz-Carlton Destination Club Creates "Adventure Passport" Program For Children
By: Destination Club News Date: December 27, 2010
The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club continues to have children at the forefront of their thoughts. Recently, the luxury destination club donated school supplies to foster children and the Ritz-Carlton Destination Club has now created a new program for their young members called the "Adventure Passport."
Children will receive a personalized passport, each including a section dedicated for each club location. They fill the passport with stamp imprints with each stamp representing a specific activity to the destination. Once all five stamps are collected, a plush Ritz-Carlton lion is given to the young member to recognize the achievement. After visiting at least five properties and getting 25 stamps, the child receives a large stuffed Ritz-Carlton lion with a signed, framed certificate of accomplishment.
Examples of some of the stamp activities include:
- Making and decorating gingerbread houses, building a snowman, or joining a campfire sing-a-long with a musical instrument in Aspen
- Finding a constellation through a telescope in Lake Tahoe
- Learning how to hula or how to braid a lei in Kapalua Bay
"It is our pleasure to continually offer our discerning Members exclusive vacation experiences and that includes our youngest Members," said Peter J. Watzka, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for The Ritz-Carlton Development Company. "We see the new Adventure Passport program as a way for children to immerse themselves in the local culture while having a great time in the destination they are visiting."
The destination club experience is above all else an investment in family. The ability to vacation when you wish with the ones you love. Countless options to explore via an ever increasing portfolio of new destinations. Unforgettable activities that have you counting the days to your next vacation. Over the past several years, many of the luxury travel industry's leading players have made the experience for children a cornerstone in their design. Exclusive Resorts, the world's largest destination club, hosts a member-only event each year called "Kids Take Manhattan" with the young members getting a private tour of the Statue of Liberty with parents in tow during the most recent excursion. The Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club includes Nintendo Wii and Xbox game consoles, board games, baby gates, Pack 'n Plays, and audio monitors at every property.
