Quintess Supports Greenhouse Scholars
By: Destination Club News Date: April 28, 2011
Luxury destination club Quintess has donated ten nights to support Greenhouse Scholars, a non-profit organization dedicated to growing Colorado's community leaders by supporting high performing, under resourced students in college with mentorship, scholarship, leadership, and professional opportunities.
Tonight, over 200 guests will gather at the Denver Botanic Gardens for Glass Half Full, the first in a series of events supporting the Greenhouse Scholars program. Local and regional supporters will contribute wine and culinary delights.
The event will also include silent and live auctions to raise money for the event, with other key sponsors including Crestone Capital Advisors and Deloitte. The evening will conclude with presentations from current scholars.
Only 12 spots are available each year in the program with over 100 applications submitted. Scholars receive personal support from a mentor for four years, complete an internship, participate in peer support programs, and come together each year for the Summer Symposium and participate in a professional contact program to support networking and professional interviewing skills.
Of the 55 current scholars, 78% are the first in their family to attend college. These students now attend prestigious universities such as Stanford, Dartmouth, Georgetown, and others.
Other community events benefitting the organization will take place, including The Annual Inspire in early August and Venus de Miles in late August.
Quintess has long had an established relationship with Greenhouse Scholars, donating well over $60,000 in scholarships over the years. The club also supports various green initiatives and has made philanthropy a pillar in their design.
We congratulate Quintess for their continued support of these charities and look forward to covering their initiatives further.
