Presnell Sporting Collection Launches Membership Club

Presnell Companies have launched their newest venture, Presnell Sporting Collection, designed for the busy sporting enthusiast.  Showcasing the finest hunting and fishing lodges in the world, Presnell Sporting Collection operates similarly to a specialty destination club—with some notable differences.

The Veras Group met with Sean Scully from the Presnell Sporting Collection to discuss the club’s unique benefits and membership offering. Sean noted that Presnell’s membership offering is similar to the traditional destination club model, where a member pays an initial fee and annual dues.  The Presnell Sporting Collection does not purchase destinations, but rather acts as a rental broker with a highly detailed vetting process.  Sean explained that this vetting process is much of the value to the client.  Although Presnell does not own the properties, they spend tens of thousands of dollars evaluating each location, building DVDs and other marketing materials, and can fully prepare and support clients on each excursion. 

Unlike the standard destination club model of refunding 75 percent to over 100 percent of the member's deposit, Presnell Sporting Collection decreases the amount refunded the longer a member remains part of the club. This supports the ongoing operations of the business, and the vetting and inclusion of additional experiences.  The annual dues charged are less than what members would pay for these excursions independently, and Presnell also provides a host of additional pre-trip services for the member.

Members can discontinue their membership much like a destination club.  When four new members join the Presnell Sporting Collection, one is redeemed. A member can secure 75 percent of their original deposit if they elect to resign within the first five years of membership, 50 percent after the fifth year, and 25 percent after ten. Members may also will their interest as part of their estate. 

Members receive an allotment of points each year based on their membership plan to use towards excursions. The lowest level membership, on average, provides for about 4 experiences per year.  Members are allowed to use these points for their own travels or distribute out to friends, family members, or business colleagues at their leisure.

Members enjoy only the finest accommodations at hand selected locations.  Many of these hidden gems are accessible only by helicopter, in fact.  Hunting Tahr and other big game, quail and pheasant hunting, bone fishing, and wing hunting are just a few of the initial experiences available to Presnell members.  Destinations include properties from Guatamala and the Bahamas to Africa and New Zealand.

Presnell Sporting Collection has also partnered with The Registry Collection to offer accommodations outside of the sporting themes. Each year, members are able to use up to 30% of their membership points to travel to The Registry Collection’s global portfolio of residences. This is a nice perfect benefit for a non-sporting spouse and family.
