Presnell Sporting Collection Introduces New Pricing Structure

The Presnell Sporting Collection, a luxury sportsman travel club, has introduced a new pricing structure based on demand from clients. We spoke with the club's Founder Kevin Presnell and Vice President of Member and Concierge Services Sean Finley last week to discuss their new pricing.

"We learned a lot from 2009," Presnell told us. "People wanted the great number of benefits that we offer, but because of the state of the economy, they wanted to be sure about their membership. We decided we wanted to make it much more flexible for these members."

Members now can join the Presnell Sporting Collection through four new membership options:

  • 3 Year Membership: $10,000
  • 10 Year Membership: $25,000
  • 25 Year Membership: $35,000
  • Legacy Membership: $75,000

The Legacy Membership is a membership in perpetuity that can be passed on from generation to generation and members of all club levels can elect to upgrade their membership at any time. Members of the Presnell Sporting Collection purchase "sporting privileges" that are used to make reservations to hunt Red Stag in New Zealand, shoot Quail in Georgia, bone fish in the Bahamas, or any number of the 200 destination options the club counts.

"Members also get to control their annual dues, with a $1,000 minimum," Presnell continued. "There are no limits on the number of reservations you make per year. Members can travel themselves or designate family, friends, vendors, customers, or business colleagues to use their membership as they wish."

Part of this price change comes as a result of the economy, but the genesis came from members and potential members alike. "When we first launched, we thought we would primarily deal with avid outdoorsmen," Presnell would say. "But a lot of our inquiries have been people who wanted to try out the experience, but didn't know how to go about it. 'What gear should I bring? What equipment is best for that specific activity? What type of weather should I expect?' These were the types of questions we received. What we do at Presnell Sporting Collection is take care of all of these questions. We help out with the gear list and prepare members for each experience with personal consulting by trained professionals and a Members only section of our website for even more information. And once they get to their venue, everything is all inclusive."

Regarding the future of the Presnell Sporting Collection, the club is considering affiliating with some of the industry's major clubs. "Just so everyone knows, we are NOT a destination club," Presnell emphasized. "We don't own any of the venues available to members, making your membership safe and secure."

"It is difficult to pigeonhole us into a specific sector," Finley added. "Simply because no one else does what we do."

Currently, the club is offering a one-time incentive for the first ten members that join in 2010. These new members will have the option to purchase the 25 Year Membership for $10,000, a $25,000 savings off published rates.
