M Private Residences Opens Vancouver Office
By: Destination Club News Date: November 14, 2007
Canada's largest destination club, M Private Residences, is expanding its reach with a new office in Vancouver. Headquartered in Calgary, the satellite office in Vancouver is manned by Membership Director Sarah Schaus. Opened earlier this month, the new Vancouver office is in a prime territory with close access to several M Private Residence properties.
"We are excited about the potential for growth in the area, particularly with 4 homes within driving distance," said President and CEO Paul Poscente. "This growth will offer a wider membership base and a more robust property portfolio for our current members."
In addition, Travel Experience Coordinator Stacey Stewart has relocated to Victoria to further establish the club's presence in British Columbia.
Regional expansion is not a new concept in the destination club sector. In August of 2004, the "first and only affordable" destination club Private Escapes launched offices in both Chicago and Atlanta. Signature Destinations would be entirely region focused, launching in Washington.
"We were just going to launch the Pacific Northwest and get it up and running and then go to the next market," said Chad Stevens, Founder of Signature Destinations. "But we looked at it and said if we take this strategy, it is too slow."
Signature Destinations would plan to expand to include regional clubs in California, Arizona, New York, Colorado, and Hawaii.
Other destination clubs have regional regulations to only accept a certain number of members from select geographic regions to not overwhelm properties within driving distance.
Having a regional sales person who can not only elaborate on the benefits of destination club membership and allow potential members the ability to see the properties up close and in person can greatly decrease the rather substantial due diligence period that the destination club sales process requires.
