The 28th Banff Midsummer Ball will be held tonight, complete with a silent auction to raise funds to support artist scholarships. Canada's leading destination club, M Private Residences, has offered a four day, three night stay at any of their luxurious residences to the auction, valued at $4,500.

"The Banff Centre is a catalyst for creativity and a globally respected arts, cultural, and educational institution and conference facility," says the organization. "Banff Centre alumni create, produce, and perform works of art all over the world; lead our institutions, organizations, and businesses; and play significant roles in our cultural, social, intellectual, and economic well-being, and in the preservation of our environment."

Joining M Private Residences trip up for auction includes a wide array of art from renowned artists and Banff alumni, other luxury trips, and products ranging from expedition parkas to premium wines.

"Experience first hand what M Private Residences Members already know," begins the teaser for M's Lot 37. "The finest days of your life begin with an escape to one of M's luxury vacation homes. Choose from 1 of 14 world-wide locations – such as Barbados, England, Hawaii, France and many more – for a fabulous 4-day, 3-night, M-hosted getaway!"

The lucky highest bidder has until July of 2008 to use their vacation.

Destination clubs intentionally model their properties to be underutilized, often allowing properties to be vacant up to 50% of the time. Clubs incur virtually no additional costs for opening their properties for additional access and many leading clubs have the mentality that they would rather have travelers enjoy the properties rather than having them sit unoccupied.
