Luxus Vacation Properties Plans For 2010
By: Destination Club News Date: December 22, 2009
With Christmas just a few short days away, Luxus Vacation Properties, one of Canada's emerging destination clubs, is already looking to 2010 and continuing the positive growth they have seen in 2009.
Luxus Vacation Properties is currently preparing their 2009 Financial Statements to disclose to members, stating "The reconciliation looks very positive and we hope to have Audited Statements prepared and delivered to the group early in the New Year." Once these documents become available, Luxus will be hosting a member's meeting at their Sherwood Park, Alberta office.
The Canadian dollar has gained nearly 20% in recent months against the US dollar since its 2009 low, giving the young club high hopes for their property portfolio in 2010. Beginning in 2018, Luxus will begin to liquidate their real estate assets and distribute the proceeds to members, leading both the club and members to wish for an aggressive real estate acquisition schedule for 2010 while home values remain low. San Diego, Whistler, Tuscany, and Costa Rica are all amongst the club's planned acquisitions.
While 2009 looks positive for the club, 2010 is looking positive for members. As of today, nearly 3,000 nights are still available across the club's 14 residences, meaning only 44% of the available dates are currently reserved by members. Like many other leading destination clubs, Luxus models their club to have an annual occupancy level of approximately 75% per year. Based on their levels of equity, members receive an annual allotment of points used to reserve club properties.
Luxus Vacation Properties is currently closing in on 100 members, a major threshold in the destination club industry. The scope of the entire club is just 200 "Limited Partners" who will eventually have access to a collection of approximately 30 properties.
Some of the destination club industry's more tenured clubs like Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World and Ultimate Escapes have begun to post strong sales numbers following a poor year for both the economy and destination club sector.
Many within the sector have expressed the high hopes that they share with the Luxus Group and several new destination clubs that we are in contact with are planning their launch in 2010 with similar aspirations.
