Leading Residences of the World To Conclude Charter Membership Offer

In less than two weeks, The Leading Residences of the World will conclude their Charter Membership offer, letting members save over $25,000 on their membership deposit. For these early adopters, memberships will be reduced from $325,000 to $299,000.

Created by The Leading Hotels of the World, Cendant Corporation, and Destination Club Partners, The Leading Residences of the World allows members unlimited annual travel to their collection of luxury vacation residences as well as special privileges at nearly 1,000 Leading Hotels spanning the globe.

Properties within the portfolio range from $1 million to $5 million, and like many other destination clubs, properties are broken up into categories to maximize the club’s reach. The rather broad categories used by the club include:

  • Beach
  • Mountain
  • Metropolitan
  • Signature Golf
  • World-Class Skiing
  • Spa Destinations
  • Epicurean
  • Romance
  • Culture
  • Family Friendly

The Leading Residences of the World has also introduced a new concept to their club: insurance.

"The Leading Residences of the World provides its members with an unprecedented layer of consumer protection by backing its membership deposit refund promise with an insurance policy. This policy provides the financial security that has, up until now, been absent from the luxury destination club product. Upon resignation, membership deposits are refunded, minus a 20% transfer fee, when the club acquires four new members or within 12 months, whichever comes first."

Joining an upstart destination club like The Leading Residences of the World does hold distinct advantages over joining a more established club like Exclusive Resorts. Early adopters often receive preferred pricing and direct access to the club’s executive staff, but at the trade off of less destinations and financial security.
