Inspirato Surpasses 200 Members and $2 Million In Sales
By: Destination Club News Date: March 14, 2011
Just a few short months after their official launch in January, Inspirato is already achieving marks that other destination clubs wait years to attain as they have already signed over 200 new members and have recorded in excess of $2 million in sales.
Described as "the next-generation destination club," Inspirato was created by the founders of Exclusive Resorts, the world's largest destination club. Rather than purchasing properties, as is the traditional destination club model, Inspirato instead enters into multi-year property leases. Without the large costs associated to purchasing the resort real estate available to members, Inspirato is able to greatly reduce the cost of joining, currently available for $9,500. If a member wishes to renew their membership, they pay an annual renewal fee currently established at $2,500 each year.
"Because Inspirato does not own any real estate – rather it leases properties for multi-year terms – it is less expensive upfront to join," the club writes on how they compare to other destination clubs. "Inspirato is considerably more flexible to use than a destination club, since its members can travel to the club’s properties as little or as often as they wish, and they pay only for what they use. Plus, in contrast to fixed annual dues, nightly rates for each home are dynamic and market-based, influenced by how far in advance reservations are made, travel dates and length of stay. Similar to luxury destination clubs, Inspirato provides dedicated, proactive service before, during and after each member’s stay. Most important, Inspirato’s business model is designed to be sustainable and flexible to adjust to changing external factors, without an emphasis on real estate appreciation."
Based on the fast start, Inspirato will conclude their friends and family pricing at the end of the month. Check back soon for more information about the pending price increase.
