High Country Club Properties To Be Sold Today
By: Destination Club News Date: March 19, 2010
Over a year ago, High Country Club's bankruptcy shook the destination club industry as hundreds of members lost their refundable membership deposits and travel privileges. Today, seven of the club's properties will be sold at auction. The properties to be sold are:
- Parcel 1: 1600 Broadway, Unit #10E, New York, New York
- Parcel 2: 1470 Masters Blvd., Unit #311, Orlando, Florida
- Parcel 3: 120 Tip Top Trail, Unit #6537, Keystone, Colorado
- Parcel 4: 65 The North Road, Breckenridge, Colorado
- Parcel 5: 74 Cresta Road, Unit #306, Arrowhead Village, Colorado
- Parcel 6: 1111 Forest Trail, Unit 1121, Mammoth Lakes, California
- Parcel 7: 2006 Costa Del Mar Road, Unit 2, La Costa Resort, Carlsbad, California
Each of the seven High Country Club properties will begin with a suggested opening bid of $150,000 and will be sold "regardless of price." Properties range from one bedroom and one bath up to four bedrooms with four and one half baths.
Announced last month, the High Country Club auction will take place today at the Denver Marriott City Center. Since the announcement, interested buyers have had the opportunity to conduct onsite inspections of each of the residences available.
Following the bankruptcy, many clubs new and old would look into acquiring the members and properties of High Country Club. Ultimate Escapes and Distinctive Holiday Homes would both pursue club members and Paragon Destinations and The Phoenix Club would eventually be created, both crafted by former High Country Club members.
Check back soon for more information about the results of the auction in the coming weeks and please request a free copy of our Destination Club Guide for additional information about the destination club experience.
