Golden Years Holidays Appears To Be Closed

Golden Years Holidays, a destination club designed specifically for the retired crowd, appears to have...well...retired. The club's website has been pulled for the past several weeks and no news from the club has emerged this year. We spoke with Golden Years Holidays earlier this year and plans were to franchise the model to other luxury travel providers, but it seems that these goals were never realized.

Similiar to an annuity, Golden Years Holidays gave members "holidays for life." The price to join the destination club depended on the age of the member. Simply the older you were, the less you paid to join. Members received an annual allotment of points to be used for reservations at the club's portfolio of apartments, villas, cruises and other luxury travel options. Each year, members paid an "annual administration fee" to receive their points and with each passing year, the redemption value of the membership approached £0.

Golden Years Holidays begun the wind down process of their own club last year, but continued with their plans to license their product to other destination clubs and travel providers.
