Featured Property: The Discovery Club Kauai
By: Destination Club News Date: June 6, 2010
Last month, The Discovery Club introduced a handful of new affiliate properties available to members, including a luxury camping experience and fishing club in British Columbia and access to Changri-La Guilin in China. Joining these new properties are Marriotts throughout Hawaii, including the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, Kauai Marriott Resort, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, and Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. We have pitted several of these properties against one another, and our voters have selected Kauai Marriott Resort as their favorite new Discovery Club destination in our property of the week vote.
Situated on 800 acres fronting Kalapaki Beach, the Kauai Marriott includes oceanfront dining, one of the largest family resort pools in Hawaii, and 18 holes of Jack Nicklaus golf.
"Kauai is one of the most stunning places on earth. The Kauai Marriott Resort is the perfect place to relax, recharge and experience the Island of Discovery’s timeless charm," the club wrote when the new properties were introduced. "The golden sands of serene Kalapaki Beach are only steps away, Jack Nicklaus designed oceanfront golf, local cuisine and botanical gardens await your arrival."
Each room features Revive bedding, high-speed internet access, safes, refrigerators, and his and her robes and slippers. Ranging between 425 and 1,000 square feet each, rooms sleep between two and four.
Unlike other destination clubs who traditionally own the properties available to members, The Discovery Club creates their property portfolio by establishing relationships with resorts around the world.
