"We have never in five years bought a property without having sufficient Shareholders' money to cover the purchase price and related costs, including furnishings, in the bank in advance," club Founder David Rogers told us last month in an article about Rocksure Property's real estate philosophy. "The reasons are partly because we don't think that our Shareholders have signed up to us taking that kind of risk on their behalf, partly because we don't want to add mortgage interest to the normal running costs of the properties, and partly because we have proved that we can buy better if we can offer full payment in cash to the vendors. Our investors pay 100% cash up-front to us and we pay 100% cash to the vendors."

During this past week, we let readers select their favorite property of three we selected from the Rocksure Property portfolio with their residence in Portugal taking home our weekly award.

"The most spectacular thing about Casa Alto do Cerro is its view, which is beyond belief, and its lovely garden," Rogers told us. "It is completely quiet and private - nobody could overlook it."

Ideally located, Casa Alto do Cerro is just a 15 minute drive to Faro, 20 to Vilamoura, and just 10 from Loule or Almancil. All include a great deal of daily activities, but most notably, world-class golf. "The Algarve is noted for its large number of golf courses, many of them Championship," Rogers continued. "Among the most famous are those at Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura, all of which are less than 30 minutes’ drive from the house. The Algarve has a very long season for golfers – March to December – and the house is hugely popular with our investors and for rentals, too."

Like a growing number of destination clubs, Rocksure Property allows non-members access to club properties on a rental basis to keep annual dues for members low. Rogers told us that Casa Alto do Cerro remains available in September, one of the prime travel months.
