Our 2009 International Destination Club of the Year, The Hideaways Club and their global collection of luxurious vacation residences was the feature of our past property of the week vote, comparing their properties in Tuscany, Italy; Brac, Croatia; and Kalkan, Turkey.
 While all three are favorites amongst members, the 200 square meter property in Kalkan, Turkey takes home our weekly award. Located in the Mediterranean, Kalkan is surrounded by the Taurus Mountains and averages 300 days of sunshine per year. While originally a fishing town, Kalkan has quickly become a leading tourist destination with everything from beaches to archaeological sites to visitors.
Sleeping up to eight across the property's four bedrooms, The Hideaways Club residence rests on the hillside overlooking the coast, with an infinity pool that blurs the line between the ocean and the edge of the property. The split-level lounge and dining room lead onto the terraces, providing for even more stunning views of the harbor. For those who want to take full advantage of the sun, the property showcases a rooftop terrace and sunbathing area, complete with its own kitchenette and cloakroom and multiple beach chairs surround the pool for all to relax in.
When getting out of the sun, a sheltered gazebo makes for the perfect location to gather following a long day partaking in the local attractions, including shops and the most restaurants than "any other part of the Turkish coast" according to the club.
Like the other properties with The Hideaways Club, the Kalkan residences comes equipped with the club's standard list of amenities, including:
