Featured Property: Grand Resort Properties Le Reve
By: Destination Club News Date: January 10, 2010
One of the few destination clubs to include a collection of yachts as a staple of their property portfolio, Grand Resort Properties gives members the opportunity to enjoy life at sea in some perennially popular destinations, including:
- Exuma Islands
- Leeward Islands
- South of France
- Virgin Islands
- New England
With the New England Patriots playing today at home today, the New England yacht "Le Reve" has been selected our weekly property of the week as voted on by readers.
"From Sag Harbor to Nantucket Island, New England’s enchanting landscapes and history captivate you, heart and soul. Century old villages, lively fishing towns and the Hampton’s of Sag Harbor present many exciting sightseeing opportunities," the club writes. "With a history as rich as its seafood, New England is the perfect destination for any occasion."
With accommodations for up to eight guests across the yacht’s four cabins, Le Reve comes appointed with a collection of activities for travelers. The yacht includes two and three man jet skis, tubing equipment, floatation devices, snorkel equipment, and fishing gear.
A number of leading destination clubs continue to include or have included yachts as part of their benefit package to members, including Ultimate Escapes, Quintess, and Distinctive Holiday Homes.
These yacht experiences are traditionally above and beyond the scope of the annual dues and fees paid by members, requiring additional capital for the ship's staff, fuel, and other expenses. Despite the costs, they remain some of the most popular experiences in the industry.
ViaMari has recently introduced themselves to the sector as the world's first yachting destination club with a fleet of yachts ranging from 52 to well over 100 feet.
When the Omaha based Grand Resort Properties was conceived, they planned to take an Exclusive Resorts' like model to the design of their club but with a mid-western appeal where properties were easily accessible by members.
Unfortunately, Grand Resort Properties was not available for comment on this feature or their ongoing initiatives.
