Less than a month after officially launching DUO, the new destination club remains one of the most visible in the industry as they continue to pursue members of the bankrupt Ultimate Escapes. Created by Club Holdings to serve as a companion club to Quintess, DUO has already unveiled a special offer for Ultimate Escapes members giving them the opportunity to join as charter members and the possibility of receiving the funds that they lost at previous destination clubs refunded to them. We asked our readers over the past weeks what their favorite property in the DUO launch portfolio was their favorite, and Los Cabos edged out South Beach and the Turks & Caicos.

The club's Cielos Palmillas enclave is found above the Sea of Cortez. Single-level villas within the community vary in terms of square footage but all include four bedrooms and four and one half baths. Homes include Vonage/VOIP for complimentary long distance calling, two master bedrooms, great room with state of the art technology, wireless internet access, gourmet kitchens, golf carts, covered terraces, outdoor entertaining areas, and private heated pools and spas. DUO members also receive access to Club Ninety Six, Del Mar Development's private beach club, and to One&Only Palmilla Hotel's world-class spa, Jack Nicklaus designed championship golf course, and acclaimed restaurants.

The special offer available to Ultimate Escapes members waives roughly 90% of the upfront membership deposit that non-charter members will pay beginning on December 1, 2010. Upon resignation, members will be able to receive 75% of the most comparable then-current published membership price at the time of the resignation request up to 100% of the membership deposit that a member paid to Ultimate Resort, Tanner & Haley, Private Escapes, and/or Ultimate Escapes, plus 2009 assessment fees, and the fee paid to join DUO.

Our sources tell us that the club has fielded hundreds of calls and inquiries from Ultimate Escapes members in the past weeks and plan to subscribe their first 100 memberships in just a short deal of time.
