The recently launched Boundless Journeys Club concluded their charter membership phase this past week and will begin focusing exclusively on catering to their first phase of members. Unlike other destination clubs that purchase the properties available to members, Boundless Journeys Club builds their portfolio through "a collection of strategically aligned property owners, developers, resorts, and real estate investors." This design allows the young club to bring on new properties at a brisk pace to meet member demand. We asked our readers to vote on their favorite of three Boundless Journeys Club residences, with Exuma leading the way.

Boundless Journeys Club ExumaThe four bedroom, ocean villa includes its own private pool overlooking the harbor. Found within an 80 acre gated community, guests will be able to visit Georgetown, the capital of the Exumas, just a mile away. Adults and children alike can begin to take in all the islands have to offer virtually right outside their door, beginning with snorkeling off the private dock.

The attractions don't end there as members will have access to pristine beaches, a freshwater pool, and fully equipped fitness center. Just 20 minutes away, members can also indulge in exclusive golf and spa privileges at the Four Seasons Resort.

Boundless Journeys Club was created in part by a long-time destination club member, Doug Burger, taking his experience as a member of both Tanner & Haley and Ultimate Escapes. "Boundless Journeys Club draws from all of the best attributes of the destination club lifestyle with none of the high stakes risk," he said. "There are no legacy issues, no debt and zero connection to past owners or senior executives from any failed destination clubs."

Going through two destination club bankruptcies, Boundless Journeys has removed the refundable membership deposit component and settled on a dues and nightly fee structure. Following the Ultimate Escapes bankruptcy, Boundless Journeys Club would market themselves as the "destination club for destination club refugees" as many Ultimate Escapes members had their travel reservations cancelled.

The search continues for many of those refugees as Boundless Journeys Club is just one of many potential landing spots. DUO by Quintess, Second Home Destinations, and Exclusive Resorts have all designed custom membership offers to the former Ultimate Escapes members. Others are turning towards equity based models such as the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club or Equity Estates. Most remain shell-shocked at the Ultimate Escapes bankruptcy and the probable loss of their refundable membership deposits. The storm following the bankruptcy has died down, but the cleanup efforts will continue for years to come.
