One of the primary perks of being a destination club member is having access to some of the world's most popular tourist areas. The pristine white sand beaches of Los Cabos. The unmistakable views from a New York City high rise apartment. The fresh powder just steps away from a ski-in, ski-out home in Telluride, Colorado. While these widely acclaimed destinations typically make up a strong percentage of a club's inventory of vacation homes, each club also has their own collection of hidden gems, off the beaten path for members to discover and fall in love with, as is the case with the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club's Sun Valley, Idaho.

Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club Sun ValleyBoasting panoramic views of Trail Creek Summit, the three bedroom, three and one half residence is part of Les Saisons, a private residence resort in downtown Ketchum. The European inspiration can be found throughout the two story property, including a stone fireplace, distressed hickory floors, and rich wood accents. Despite the old world charm, state of the art appliances give members the amenities of today with an on-site fitness facility and spa, jetted tubs, and sculptured marble countertops.

The Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club increased the prices for their three membership options at the start of the month, equating to price hikes between $10,000 and $23,000. The club will also soon end their attractive trial membership offer, letting members enjoy the club for two years without having to pay a membership deposit, instead only paying annual dues.

We spoke with Darin Gilson, the club's Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development, last week about the club's plans for the rest of the year. "With respect to our equity memberships, we have sold more equity memberships this year to date than all of last year, and certainly that is a result of our aggressive pricing," he said. "We hope this trend will continue, and our intention is to steadily move the equity membership prices upward."

Even with the price increase that went into effect earlier this month, the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club is still priced well below their 2009 rates when they discounted their membership prices by 40%.
