Exclusive Resorts To Participate At Inaugural Fractional Summit USA
By: Destination Club News Date: May 15, 2010
Stating that "fractional real estate now operates in a completely new market paradigm" and that "many old rules no longer apply," Fractional Life will host the first annual Fractional Summit USA conference at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami on August 31 and September 1, 2010. Designed for real estate developers and agents and others working in the fractional industry, Exclusive Resorts, the world's largest destination club, will participate at the conference.
"Exclusive Resorts provides our members with continual variety in their travel experiences, combining the privacy and spaciousness of vacation homes in dozens of top destinations round the world with the services and amenities of luxury resorts," said Jeff Potter, Exclusive Resorts' CEO. "As a market leader, we're excited to be participating at Fractional Summit USA because, in recognizing the role of destination clubs in the shared use luxury vacation market, it gives us an ideal platform to showcase the unique benefits of Exclusive Resorts membership to this vibrant global industry."
On the provisional agenda, a number of interesting topics will be discussed, including:
- Feasibility and Market Demand
- Operations Management
- Case Studies
- Panel Discussions
- New Marketing Mediums
- Legal Issues
The highlight of the two day event may come on the afternoon of September 1 in an event titled "Luxury Destination Clubs - Survival of the Fittest?" The brief overview describes this portion of the summit quite succinctly. "Representatives from the five remaining Destination Clubs talk openly and honestly about the outlook and challenges they face within the market." While the destination club industry is very top heavy with Exclusive Resorts and Ultimate Escapes dominating in terms of members, there are dozens of destination clubs currently in operation around the world, each with their own benefits and value proposition.
We look forward to learning more about what contributors have to say about the challenges the destination club industry faces in the coming years. We profiled our own threats to the destination club sector last year, including how clubs will respond to long lists of members wishing to resign from their respective clubs, litigation from members, fluctuating real estate values, and likely the most important, consumer confidence.
