Exclusive Resorts Sponsored Guest Program Continues Success

More than a year after the introduction of their Sponsored Guest Program, Exclusive Resorts is still seeing success on their try before you buy membership option. Travelers can select four or seven night stays without paying the up-front membership deposit and annual dues associated with membership. Not only do these travelers have access to Exclusive Resorts' properties, but also all the benefits of membership, including pre-travel planning and local resort access when in residence.

The current Exclusive Resorts' properties available to Sponsored Guests are:

  • Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica
  • Los Cabos, Mexico
  • Real del Mar, Mexico
  • Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
  • Sea Island, Georgia
  • Telluride, Colorado
  • Bovey Castle, Devon, England
  • Scottsdale, Arizona
  • Deer Valley, Utah
  • Snowmass, Colorado
  • Bonita Beach, Florida
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida

"Over the years, many members have commented that the decision to join Exclusive Resorts would have been even easier had they only known how great the club experience truly is," the club wrote when the program was introduced late in 2008. "There is something beyond the beautiful photography of the luxurious residences and the descriptions of our personalized service that is difficult to explain to someone who has not yet traveled as a member. It is this intangible quality that compels members to say that the club has done far more than just improve their vacations—more importantly, it has improved the quality of the time they spend with their loved ones."

Many other destination clubs have adopted similar philosophies, introducing various trial membership options over the past several year. Ultimate Escapes launched their Ultimate Discovery membership, letting prospective members enjoy seven nights of travel at any of their three club levels prior to joining. Quintess introduced a trial membership option last year that allowed travelers the ability to enjoy membership for a year by paying a $15,000 non-refundable fee and annual dues. The Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club is currently offering a similar option, letting members experience club travel for two years via an annual dues only structure and no long term commitment.

If you are considering joining a destination club, these trial options can be a good way to see the services and properties available through the club first hand. To learn more about the benefits and risks of joining a destination club, request a free copy of our Destination Club Guide.
