Exclusive Resorts Member Remarks On Club Experience
By: Destination Club News Date: February 19, 2010
Last week, Exclusive Resorts CEO Jeff Potter was in sunny Arizona to celebrate the club's 100,000th vacation with the record setting members and returned back for festivities at the club's Denver office to meet with another delighted member. In honor of the historic milestone, club member Sandy Maloney participated in the gathering, commenting on her family's experiences with the club.
I am Sandy Maloney. I work with my husband, Michael, who is a dermatologist, and we have 3 adult children who are scattered across the world. Ashley is currently working in Antarctica, Christopher works for Microsoft and lives in San Francisco, and Andrew who is 23 years old, lives at home and is trying to become a rock star. We live in the Park Hill area of Denver.
We joined ER in February 2006 and it was one of the best family decisions we have ever made. We have always wanted a vacation home and could just never decide where to buy one. After we were invited to go to the Big Island of Hawaii on an ER vacation with friends in early December 2005 we KNEW what to do. We came home and contacted someone at ER and joined by February. We think having prospective members visit an ER home is a fantastic marketing tool.
The very first trip we took was to Aspen just weeks after we joined. Of course it was great. Then we went to Carnegie Abbey. The next trip was to Florence, Italy and that was just fantastic. After another quick trip to Aspen in December we finally went to PARADISE.
In January we went to Real del Mar. Our Member Services Manager Liza chose the house for us — Punta Sur — which is FABULOUS by the way — and it was the most PERFECT vacation our family had ever been on. We all fell in love with Real del Mar and Mexico. The whole experience was beyond terrific. Our concierge was wonderful, the house was wonderful, the housekeeper was wonderful.
Our next big trip that we look forward to with great anticipation is Tuscany in September. My sister and her husband will be joining us for their first ER experience and we can't wait. All of our kids plan to come as well. We got this trip from the Cancellation Watch List. One of our favorite destinations is the Big Island in Hawaii. We have returned twice, most recently this past November with all the kids and their friends. Lahela is one of the most endearing, lovely, knowledgeable concierges we have met. Actually, all of the ER concierges have been so gracious that I believe whoever is in charge of hiring them must have a very special talent.
Our family feels very privileged and blessed to belong to ER. We feel that ER offers us both tangible and intangible rewards that are priceless…it is still a bargain because these times with our children and families and our friends would otherwise not be possible. The club is one terrific concept and this has been one of the best decisions we have made.
These types of stories proliferate across the destination club industry as families and friends get to travel together at luxury vacation properties in some of the world's most highly sought after destinations. Exclusive Resorts has posted member satisfaction scores of greater than 90% for seven consecutive years, demonstrating the excellent service levels also affiliated with destination club membership.
If you are considering joining a destination club, many other factors should be considered in addition to the club experience, including financials, resignation policies, and rules and regulations.
