Luxury destination club Exclusive Resorts introduced a new four year payment option earlier this month, letting members join by paying 20% of their membership fee and first year of annual dues. Members subsequently pay off the balance of their membership fee over the next four years, but enjoy the privileges of full membership from day one.

For those who don't plan on using the new four year payment option and can pay for their membership in full upon joining, Exclusive Resorts has discounted the membership fees for their 20 through 60 night plans, letting members save upwards of $80,000.

In June, Exclusive Resorts enjoyed their best sales month in nearly two years. With the introduction of their four year payment option and reduced pricing, it is likely that the club will continue to ride their wave of success until the promotion concludes at the end of September.

The first six months of the year were an exciting time for the world's largest destination club, including the celebration of their 100,000th vacation and Steve Case become Chairman, leading a $20 million round of new equity financing. Members have continued to report satisfaction scores in excess of 90% and made 15,000 new reservations during the first six months of the year.

While Exclusive Resorts recorded a prosperous first six months of the year, Equity Estates, one of the industry's leading equity based clubs, believes that they will achieve a new level of success during the last six months of the year.

The achievements that some of these clubs are seeing demonstrates that the destination club industry is on the right track, but still has a great deal to achieve before the consumer confidence lost over the last several years is corrected.
