Exclusive Resorts Auction To Benefit Milwaukee Art Museum
By: Destination Club News Date: April 29, 2010
Later today, an auction on charitybuzz benefitting the Milwaukee Art Museum will end, with the highest bidder receiving a four night stay at a select Exclusive Resorts' residence, a vacation worth an estimated $10,000 in value.
"As our guest, you’ll enjoy the benefit of our standard services, including daily housekeeping and a dedicated Onsite Concierge to fulfill your every request, from stocking the pantry with your favorite foods before your arrival to hiring a private chef, booking tee times and more," writes the club.
The high bidder will have the opportunity to choose between five of the club's most popular destinations, including:
- Los Cabos, Mexico
- Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
- Real del Mar, Mexico
- Sea Island, Georgia
- Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica
The lucky winner will have between May 1 and December 12 of 2010 to use their stay.
As mentioned, proceeds for the auction will go to the Milwaukee Art Museum, currently featuring the exhibit Raphael: The Woman with the Veil (La Donna Velata). From the Pitti Palace in Florence, this seminal piece was one of the most famous of the Italian Renaissance.
Charitable donations may be down on the whole as a result of the economic malaise, but many destination clubs have picked up the pace in the recent past. Earlier in the year, Ultimate Escapes donated two Super Bowl tickets through charitybuzz to help relief efforts in Haiti. The Ritz-Carlton, who now counts their own vacation club in the form of the Ritz-Carlton Destination Club, also has several residences listed through charitybuzz. Just last week, Banyan Tree Private Collection, one of Asia's more prominent destination clubs, announced a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. Through the program, Banyan Tree Private Collection is asking new members to donate $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity, discounting their memberships by the same amount. For each new member that joins, Banyan Tree will also donate $10,000 of their own.
High praise to all of these clubs for their philanthropic endeavors and we hope that we will have the honor of continuing to report on such programs in the future.
