By: Destination Club News Date: July 23, 2010
Destination Cellars, the wine themed destination club that counts MasterCard and Merrill Lynch amongst their partnership network, has announced the addition of ALM/The Lawyer Invitational, the legal industry's first national golf tournament, to their list of strategic alliances.
The new alignment will give Destination Cellars the ability to "showcase some of its winery selections at tournaments across the nation." The ALM/The Lawyer Invitational started their 2010-2011 season with a kickoff tournament at the Trump National Golf Club last month. Each local tournament will include 72 two player teams with up to 50 tournaments held throughout the season. These teams will be able to qualify for a national championship that will take place at the renowned Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach in June of next year.
"Our company's commitment to exceptional service and attention to detail is something that we are excited to share with all participants at ALM/The Lawyer Invitational," said Destination Cellars' Founder and CEO David Keuhner. "We have a team of client relations and wine specialists that combine to create the best international wine experiences available for those who enjoy these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities."
"We are extremely pleased to work with David and his team at Destination Cellars," added The Lawyer Invitational's CEO Bobby Perez. "The ability to have them represented as a luxury partner will allow participants to see and experience a small part of their unique and exquisite offering."
Often branded as a destination club for the assortment of travel options available to members, Destination Cellars has several partnerships with several of their friendly competitors within the sector. First came a union with Exclusive Resorts, the world's largest destination club. Next came The Markers Club who quickly were followed by Quintess, LRW, giving Destination Cellars a strong contingent of destination club members using their services, ranging from private wine tastings to all encompassing cellar tours traditionally reserved for sommeliers.
The ALM/The Lawyer Invitational isn't Destination Cellars first jump into the golf world. The wine themed club has sponsored up and comers Parker McLachlin and Meaghan Francella.
Keeping with golf, the old game has been a hot topic within the destination club industry for a number of months. The Markers Club, the world's first destination club to focus on golf, has announced an expansion into South Africa. While The Markers Club is looking towards international expansion, another new destination club with a powerful name and lineage has launched, The PGA Tour Club. The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club, also one of the newest clubs in the sector and with one of the most powerful brand names, announced a partnership with Annika Sorenstam, making the Hall of Fame golfer a club ambassador.
Golfers often find many advantages to joining a destination club. Many clubs feature properties right along some of the world's most prized courses, help members procure discounts on rounds, and assist in shipping out your own bag so you feel most comfortable on a new course.
