Demeure Passes 300 Properties
By: Destination Club News Date: April 18, 2011
The destination club and rental organization Demeure has added close to 100 new properties over the past month according to CEO Greg Martin, including destinations such as Bali, New Zealand, and Tuscany, bringing the club's total residence collection to over 300.
At the top of the list of the new residences recently introduced to the Demeure portfolio is likely 24 Sussex Drive, the official residence of Canadian Prime Ministers since 1951. With no official Prime Minister until Canada's election in May, the home is sitting vacant. The Prime Minister's office decided to make the landmark available not only for tours, but for rental groups of up to 20 people.
"We fast-tracked our careful property review process due to the timing of the Canadian election," said Carolyn Ellis, Demeure's Director of Customer Experience. "As expected, we've seen great excitement expressed by the Demeure community. It’s not every day that you get a chance to stay at such a prestigious address."
Demeure has also recently signed agreements with Provence West in France, Luxury Villa Collections in Cabo San Lucas, and Elite Destinations in the Caribbean and other select regions. The club's unique business model that is built around members contributing their own properties and establishing alliances with other rental agencies. Unlike the more traditional destination club model where new properties are purchased in line with new membership growth, Demeure is able to swell their property portfolio in anticipation of membership growth.
Earlier this month, Demeure made some substantial changes to their offering that we will profile soon. These changes have played a role in how the club has been able to bring on a vast collection of residences and will impact how current members use the club and how new members will join.
