Demeure Comments On Interest In Ultimate Escapes

Members of Ultimate Escapes have numerous options available to them at present. Quintess, now the world's second largest destination club, has launched DUO, a new destination club with an initial focus on members of Ultimate Escapes. Exclusive Resorts introduced a trial membership option that allows members to enjoy 10 days of vacation to any of their club residences. The Discovery Club unveiled an alternative that was designed to "reduce the financial risk" for members of the bankrupt destination club. Second Home Destinations has yet to formally launch their new value priced club but has already created a no membership deposit trial option for members of Ultimate Escapes.

On the sidelines, Demeure has been watching and evaluating the entire field but has yet to make any formal offer to club members.

"We haven't introduced our own offer because we are following the bankruptcy process," said Peter Schwartz, Demeure's CEO and Chairman. "I am not able to comment at this time about anything specific because of the confidentiality agreements that are in place, but can say that we do have a strong interest in Ultimate Escapes."
