December Incentives at Alpine River Club

Boldly proclaiming that only two Founder Memberships remain available, Alpine River Club is looking to fill the last two positions with an assortment of membership benefits.

Members of the Alpine River Club receive access to "over six miles of private access to blue ribbon trout streams." Similar to the destination club model where a new property is made available after a certain number of new members are acquired, Alpine River Club acquires a new "beat" for members to access.

The incentives being offered to the final two Founding Members are:

  • No dues for the first 12 months
  • 50% annual dues for the following 12 months
  • $4,000 credit to club account that can be used towards guides, gear, and lodging
  • 50% of deposit refund once the club reaches 295 members

Earlier in the year, the club's Donny Beaver responded to a court ruling that stated that he could not block public access to a stretch of the Little Janiata River as part of Alpine River Club's counterpart Spring Ridge Club.

"For those of you who don’t already know, the judge has handed down a decision in the case concerning 'ownership' of the river-bottom on the stretch of the Little Juniata that runs in front of the Stone House. The State has ruled that the section of the Little J in question will remain 'public' water. As it has stood for the last five years, anyone can walk down the Little J from the bridge and fish the waters on the Espy estate. We will still post the river banks as private property, however. None of our beats of 'legacy' waters will be directly affected by the ruling."

"At this point, I’m weighing my options as to whether or not we’ll appeal the decision, but for now, it’s business as usual."

While the destination club industry is still in its youth, more traditional destination clubs have been forced to deal with similar matters, such as working with home owner associations to confirm that their unique structure meets regulations.

As the Alpine River and Spring Ridge Clubs grow, it will be interesting to see what types of regulations and judgements the club will face with their more "public" option.

The Spring Ridge Club is also concluding a membership drive and has two Explorer Memberships still available with their own attractive membership terms.
