DUO Adds Stowe As First Ski Destination

Winter is on the way and it won't be long before the Northeast is covered by a fine blanket of snow that will delight many self proclaimed ski bums. With this in mind, the recently launched DUO by Quintess has added their first ski destination in the ever popular Stowe, Vermont.

The three bedroom villa is at the Trapp Family Lodge, positioned on 2,400 acres within the Green Mountains and providing easy access to a long list of local activities. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the many biking and hiking trails, carriage rides, bird watching, wine tasting, swimming, and other options, but the world-class skiing is what delights the majority. Stowe Mountain Resort has been ranked as the "#1 Resort in the East" by Skiing and SKI Magazine.

The Vermont ski retreat will be available to members beginning November 15, 2010 and will showcase pitched gable cedar roofs, second floor balconies, soaring ceilings, exposed beams, light-suffused rooms, and hard wood floors reminiscent of a European villa.

While DUO is designed for everyone, the launch of the new destination club was expedited to better serve members of the now bankrupt Ultimate Escapes. DUO has introduced a special offer to Ultimate Escapes members, giving them access to charter membership pricing and first grabs at the club's collection of $2 million properties, including Los Cabos, the Turks & Caicos, and New York City. According to our friend Susan Kime at Luxist, a dozen members have already signed up and nearly 200 are in discussions about joining the club.

The Ultimate Escapes bankruptcy continues to unfold with the club even again pursuing a member-owned option. A large group of other competitors have joined Quintess in offering Ultimate Escapes members a continued travel option. Exclusive Resorts, The Discovery Club, and Second Home Destinations all have their own plans on the table. The coming weeks and months will tell where the members of Ultimate Escapes will land.
