Capricorne Villas Marcus Haglid Appears On Fox Business
By: Destination Club News Date: February 13, 2008
Last night, Fox Business sat down with an Olympic Gold Medalist, twin models, and a destination club executive. Not a bad night.
Capricorne Villas' Co-Founder and President Marcus Haglid discussed the young club and its collection of properties on Fox Business's Happy Hour. Unlike other more traditional destination clubs, Capricorne Villas does not charge a large, up front membership deposit to join the club, but rather has three different membership plans, all under $4,000 to join, going as little as $100.
This type of membership alternative has recently been gaining momentum as people are unsure about wanting to pay a significant deposit because both they would rather invest somewhere else in higher yield markets and are unsure about the certainty of having their deposit refunded to them if they wish to exit the club.
In addition, Capricorne Villas does not charge annual dues, but rather nightly fees that are traditionally higher than other destination clubs, but also doesn't require members to pay when they are not traveling.
These low introductory costs have led Capricorne Villas to call themselves "the second largest destination club in the world," a claim that the collected Ultimate Resort and Private Escapes might contest after their recent merger announcement led with "Ultimate Resort and Private Escapes Sign $200 Million Merger Agreement and Create Industry's Second Largest Destination Club."
